This February half term, Helen and Natalie packed up our paints, pebbles and plenty of smiles and headed to the wonderful Bucks Goat Centre.

With families enjoying the school holidays, it was the perfect setting to bring a little creativity, and conversation about The Children’s Memorial Garden & Food Bank, into the heart of the community.

Our stall was buzzing throughout the day as children (and a few very talented adults!) got stuck into painting pebbles.

From rainbow hearts and ladybirds to thoughtful messages and tiny masterpieces, each pebble reflected imagination, care and creativity. It’s always so special watching children create something simple yet meaningful, a reminder that small acts of creativity can bring big moments of joy.

Some pebbles were taken home as keepsakes, while others will find their way into future garden spaces, spreading colour and kindness wherever they rest.

We also officially launched our Teddy Raffle for the year.

Our teddy drew lots of attention (and more than a few cuddles!) as families stopped by to find out more. The raffle is one of our gentle, ongoing fundraising efforts, helping us continue growing pathways, planting for wildlife, and developing a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance.

It felt like the perfect place to begin this year’s raffle journey, surrounded by families, and community spirit.

All funds raised go directly towards maintaining and developing the garden, including planting schemes, wildlife support, pathways, seating areas and future projects designed to enhance the space for visitors.
